According to official statistics, a total of 421 people have been affected by landmine explosions since the end of the war. Of these, 72 have lost their lives, while 349 have sustained serious injuries. These figures clearly demonstrate the scale and severity of the humanitarian challenge posed by landmines. The article highlights that mine contamination continues to pose a direct threat to human life and remains a major obstacle to reconstruction, development, and the safe return of internally displaced persons.
